More About Us

Organization Overview

Angel Mom’s Safe Haven is a proposed nonprofit organization organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code. The organization is dedicated to providing compassionate peer support, grief education, and community resources to individuals and families throughout New Jersey who are experiencing the loss of a loved one.

Founded by a mother who personally experienced the loss of a child, Angel Moms Safe Haven was created from lived experience and a deep understanding of the emotional challenges, isolation, and uncertainty that often accompany grief. The organization was established with the belief that no person should have to navigate the journey of loss alone.

Angel Moms Safe Haven provides a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where grieving individuals can find comfort, understanding, connection, and hope. Through peer support, education, faith-based encouragement, and community partnerships, the organization seeks to promote healing, emotional resilience, and renewed purpose.

Peer Support Groups

The organization will offer small, confidential peer support groups facilitated by trained individuals with lived experience of grief and loss. These groups will be designed to create a safe and welcoming environment where participants can speak openly about their experiences without fear of judgment.

Support groups will typically be held on a recurring basis, such as weekly or monthly, depending on community need and available resources. Sessions may be offered in person at community locations such as churches, community centers, or partner facilities, and may also be made available virtually to increase accessibility for participants who face transportation, mobility, childcare, or scheduling barriers.

Each group session will follow a structured format that may include a welcome and check-in, guided discussion, reflection activities, coping strategies, and closing encouragement or prayer when appropriate. Participants will be invited to share at their own pace and may choose to listen quietly until they feel comfortable engaging. The peer-led model is intended to help participants feel less alone by connecting them with others who have experienced similar loss.

Expected outcomes of the peer support groups include reduced feelings of isolation, increased emotional expression, improved coping skills, stronger peer connections, and greater confidence in managing the day-to-day challenges of grief.
